TRAINING “SEL - SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING”
Apr 28, 2024
In the first quarter of 2024, the F13 students successfully completed the "Social Emotional Learning" course as part of VietSeeds' Well-being program on January 7, 14 and 21 in Hanoi and April 26, 27 and 28 in Ho Chi Minh City. Being with the students throughout the 3-day course were two dedicated guidance counselors - Ms. Ngoc Giau - Master of Educational Psychology, Head of the Emotional Education Department at HUTECH University, and Ms. Cat Phuong - Master of Mental Health and Applied Psychology, Co-founder & Director of the MENTHY Mental Health Care Program, who also have been devoted supporters of VietSeeds since 2018.
All over the course, the students had fulfilling weekends of gaining valuable knowledge and engaging in interesting experiences. Thanks to convivial exchange activities, they had the opportunity to understand more about each other and most importantly, learn to perceive their own emotions, be aware of their own needs, and latch on to their true desires.
Throughout the whole training, Ms. Giau and Ms. Phuong taught the students how to approach long-term emotional nurturing methods, how to self-regulate emotions when feeling down, and how to maintain their own positive filters. While experiencing and practicing “mindfulness” in a quiet and profound atmosphere, the students also had the chance to look into their deepest mind, as well as to listen more to their inner voices.
Hopefully, after completing the "Social Emotional Learning" course, the students have conceivably equipped themselves with more aids in order to transform difficult feelings, understanding that nurturing one's own emotions is the key to improving and maintaining a healthy mental lifestyle. As a result, practicing the guided exercises to create positive emotional changes will be more effective, contributing to the success of the upcoming follow-up session of this course.
VietSeeds would like to extend sincere gratitude to Ms. Giau and Ms. Phuong for their committed assistance in providing the students with meaningful learning sessions and experiences.
