LOOKING BACK ON VIETSEEDS RISE ACTIVITIES: “DATA & REPORTING” SEMINAR
LOOKING BACK ON VIETSEEDS RISE ACTIVITIES: “DATA & REPORTING” SEMINAR

“Data is not merely a set of numbers, it is a set of numbers that can tell stories.”

On Sunday afternoon, April 9, 2023, VietSeeds RISE Hanoi successfully organized a seminar called  "Data & Reporting" under the leadership of Ms. Nguyen Truc Chi - a familiar trainer of VietSeeds.

During this training session, the students were given an overview of the concept of "Data" and the golden rules in working with different data sources. One of the points that RISErs found the most fascinating was that the content and format of the report needed to be properly adjusted to suit the reporter’s purpose as well as the readers’ concern. In addition, Ms. Truc Chi also introduced a wide range of tools, types of charts and methods of presentation which users could utilize to demonstrate the data more effectively.

The training session was very informative and exciting as the students not only listened to theory sharing but also had a chance to practice "Real combat with data" using the Pivot Table tool - an Excel feature - to create a report on course quality of an English center.

Ms. Truc Chi enthusiastically answered all of the students’ questions while they were doing their exercises, thereby bringing them various novel perspectives on data analysis. After the seminar, the students were also assigned a small exercise to practice at home.

Being a part of the new training framework “S.E.E.D Program” of VietSeeds, RISE is a program for 3rd year students. Accordingly, each student will be able to participate in an optional department and be responsible for their work under the guidance of a mentor. The students will be given the opportunity to accumulate practical experience through the process of solving case studies. They can simultaneously improve their presentation skills, communication skills, research skills and critical thinking as well as get involved in artistic activities so as to enrich their personal experience.
